Artisanal, inefficient, no or low-tech ocean farming practices

The world is facing increasing challenges related to food security, climate change, and the urgent need for sustainable agricultural practices. Traditional farming methods are proving resource-intensive and often unsustainable, particularly in regions with limited agricultural infrastructure. Similarly, current seaweed cultivation practices face inefficiencies, relying heavily on labour-intensive processes and manned vessels. Harvesting at sea is not only dependent on favourable weather conditions but also involves high operational costs, limiting the scalability and adoption of seaweed farming.

Samudra TARA is an innovative solution to address various latent challenges in traditional seaweed farming. These are prefabricated marine grade structures integrated with sensors and remote monitoring capabilities, modular and easy to ship - enabling rapid deployment to upscale or downscale farm. While integrated remote monitoring helps to save on operational costs like multiple boat trips and weather dependancy, Tara design also increases yield up to 85 times.
