Aird na Cuile, Oban

Samudra owns 2 major seaweed farms in Oban. Aird na Cuile is the larger one of 80Ha. It's a scenic spot with views to the islands of Kerrera, Mull, Insh and more. More importantly for us as seaweed growers, high cliffs provide natural shelter from easterly winds and there is an average depth of 20-25m.

Samudra owns 2 major seaweed farms in Oban. Sound of Insh is the relatively smaller farm of 30Ha. Both farms in Oban supports high quality growth of many seaweed species including Saccharina Latissima aka Sugar Kelp.

Cornwall

Cornwall

Samudra is growing very high quality seaweed - Sugar Kelp (Saccharina latissima) in this farm based in Cornwall, U.K. They have put the seeding lines in October and expecting to harvest it in March/April 2024. The usual cycle of harvest is approx. 6 months.

Norfolk

Norfolk

Samudra is working in partnership with Willie Athill of Norfolk Seaweed Ltd to grow commercial grade Sugar Kelp (Saccharina latissima) in this seaweed farm. The farm is about 25 Ha.

Jamaica

Jamaica

Samudra has multiple seaweed farm sites in Jamaica growing Sea Moss (Gelidium spinosum). The harvest cycle here is approx 45 days.
